What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the ability to function at a much slower, conscious pace which allows space to notice and hear what is really important.

Who Needs Mindfulness?

Will it Suit Me?

Going to something new can feel nerve wracking and unfamiliar but the workshops are kept purposely small, very informal, friendly and calming.  These sessions are for all personalities - the quiet ones, the noisy ones, the fun filled ones, the anxious ones, the sensitive ones.

Just bring a mat and an extra blanket for some Relaxation at the end of the session. You don't have to be an artist to have fun creating.  Its all about expression and provoking your awareness.  All art and crafts materials are provided and you will create something to take home with you.

Session times and the cost vary depending on the group and length of session.

Session must be booked through Be Kind to Your Mind Southend direct and paid for either by Paypal or BACS.

What's Involved in a Workshop?

Sessions are offered both indoors and outdoors depending on the time of year. In the warmer months you will find me at the park, on the beach or in the woods - close to nature, my happy place.

In the colder months I look for central, arty, relaxed venues to hold my sessions from.

Every workshop has a specific theme and the activities are simple and light. You will always have some resources to take home to use and leave with something you have created yourself!

Refreshments are offered at every session.

Is Mindfulness a Religious Practice?

Mindfulness is now a recognised practice for supporting our mental health and is used by many professionals and the NHS alongside other therapies.  Mindfulness is being aware of internal thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as well as external surroundings and situations, without automatic responses such as judgment or stress.

There are no mystical practices used.

Mindfulness is not a religion.  It has been developed to be at the reach of anybody, regardless of religious orientation.
